About Casey Goonan

Casey is a dedicated community educator, archivist, and printer who has committed their life to struggles for liberation. During the spring of 2024, Casey was arrested for alleged actions - including attempted arson at a UCLA building following the UCLA onslaught of police on their Gaza Solidarity Encampment protestors - in solidarity with the Palestinian liberation struggle as part of a global student uprising to protest the genocide in Gaza.

Hunger Strike in Solidarity

On August 27, 2025, Casey went on a hunger strike in solidarity with Pal Action UK prisoner T. Hoxha who launched their own hunger strike in pursuit of a basic set of demands which they successfully won with the support of Casey and Malik Muhammad.

Sentencing

On September 23, 2025, in a horrendous abuse of judicial authority, a federal judge sentenced Casey to 19 years in federal prison - a higher sentence than even the state prosecutors had requested, in an attempt to "make an example" out of Casey and send a message to our movements.
